A fairly crazy but fun weekend at the Noorderslag festival… It’s easy to get a bit insane there, every minute of the night you can check out at least 4/5 things happening at the same time. Quite cool, but a big risk of not seeing one thing fully and properly. This year’s solution to that problem was to lock myself up in the dressing room and eat all sorts of weird Iranian vegetables and herbs a friend gave me to get rid of the flu.
The show itself was a bit of a daze, the first ‘official’ one, I think I’m quite happy with it (I never really know). One thing is for sure though: the people I get to play with are great, same goes for everyone helping me out in the background.
We also played the Nederpop tv show, did one track “Glowing” with Janne Schra of Schradinova. Janne and me wrote that song last year on a spring day at her house, she recorded it, but we never performed it together; nice that it’s scratched of the list. Also got to see one of my all time heroes Patrick/Rudeboy now playing with the Phantom Four and the Arguido . Check out “Gun On My Temple” on their website, it’s definitely one of the best songs I heard last year. Other Dutch music on the “to check out more in-depth” list: “Shaking Godspeed” “Krach” and “Lola Kite”. So that’s what I will do now…. ciao… tjrd
